Ketchup and Mustard

A strange pattern keeps showing up in my daily life — a vivid pairing of red and yellow, like ketchup and mustard, impossible to ignore.

I don't remember when it began, but it's stayed with me ever since. Actually, I do have a suspicion that reading the first few pages of a certain book might be behind this, but that is a topic for a different day.

It very much reminds me of "cognitohazards" from the SCP universe. If you're unfamiliar, the SCP foundation is a fictional foundation tasked with containing dangerous anomalies around the world. A cognitohazard is a dangerous piece of information that causes harm just by being perceived. Text, images, concepts, that can cause either psychological or physical harm to the subject perceiving them. Now that I think about it, this thing would probably fit the description of an "infohazard" better. Regardless, they are very similar. If you would like to learn about "real life infohazards", I recommend you watch this video.

I very frequently notice a specific pattern in my everyday life. A striking combination of dandelion yellow and vivid red. Often on cars parked next to each other, clothing of people walking together, random objects, and so on. The red car theory, essentially, but I can't seem to turn it off. It only temporarily goes away randomly. Here, I would like to share with you my ever-growing collection of photos I take almost each time I notice this lovely pair of colors.

Yes, it is mostly cars because those usually remain stationary long enough for me to pull out my phone. Also, I avoid taking pictures of people with their faces in them. Taking photos of strangers is weird anyway.

And what about you, dear reader? Do you or did you experience something similar? Are there any patterns or words you notice frequently? Am I just a crazy person on the internet? Please, tell me :-).
