The newsletter is here
The blog honeymoon continues: I started a newsletter. It’s personal, it’s scrappy, and an excuse to keep writing daily. Wrote a short post about it—come see what’s new!
My OG readers know I've been hinting at starting a newsletter a few times before. Well, today is the day! Here are my key reasons why I finally decided to do it.
Audience retention
Once a reader signs-up to your newsletter, you don't have to worry about them forgetting about your blog. Well, technically now you have to worry about them unsubscribing, but that's a topic for another day. Let's be honest, RSS is remarkable, even Ghost does support it. How many people do you personally know who use RSS readers? Do you use one? I sure as hell don't. I used to dabble with like 4 different clients (which were amazing BTW), but ever since I stopped reading mainstream media, I don't need them anymore.
New beginnings
I genuinely want to take blogging more seriously this time. I feel like I really should pursue this. It certainly calls to me more than programming. But hey, we will see in a week's time. Once the honeymoon phase wears off. Which I REALLY HOPE won't happen this time. To some extent, this is inevitable, but you know. I need a stable hobby for once in my life. To finally commit to something and stop hopping from one shiny thing to another. I don't believe this to be 100% my fault. My brain chemistry is partially to blame, in my humble opinion, of course. I'm still thinking about getting that ADHD diagnosis, but I have gone off the track again, haha.
It feels personal
Personally, I subscribe to a couple of newsletters and I always take the time to read them all. It feels like the person on the other side is talking directly to you, and to some extent, they are. Just not specifically with you in mind, haha. I'm of course, not talking about those newsletters your local grocery shop sends you. I’m talking about newsletters like 3-2-1 by James Clear
Anyway, enough yapping. Below is the sign-up form, so feel free to subscribe. Whether you're here for the long haul or just peeking in, I appreciate every eyeball. Catch you in the inbox?
